Obviously, as a major force in the communications industry, the CWU is keen to keep in regular touch with all its members. Every CWU member receives a copy of the highly successful union newspaper the CWU Voice delivered to their home.
Insurance - The Communication Workers Friendly Society offers a range of insurance services. The CWFS was founded by Post Office trade unionists 100 years ago and was part of the union until legislation demanded there be greater independence. It remains an integral part of the CWU and is entirely non-profit making. Personal travel insurance, Childrens Plan, Sickness Benefit. Contact CWFS or on Freephone 0800 064 0654.
UIA offers a range of competitively priced insurance products to members of CWU and have a history of supporting trade union members for over 100 years. Unionline - New Motor Claims Service
As part of our ongoing development of services for members, we are pleased to announce the launch of Unionline's new free Motor Claims Service.
The service is to provide members with independent expert legal support, ensuring they get the best service and outcome, if they need to make a claim on their motor insurance policy following an accident. This type of service is usually provided if your motor insurance policy includes motor legal expense insurance which can add up to £40 on to your motor insurance premium. This new service will replace the need for members to purchase motor legal cover (motor legal expense insurance), which is an added financial benefit in using this service. The motor claims service is free of charge to all members and also their family. To make the most of the Unionline Motor Claims Service, in the event you are involved in a road traffic accident, you will need to call Unionline before you call your motor insurer on 0300 333 0303 and press option 5.
